建築写真の役割は、その建築が本来持つ姿を、可能なかぎり忠実に記録することだと考えています。設計者の意図、施主の想い、職人の仕事、空間のスケール、光の質、素材の手触り──これらは建築が完成した瞬間から少しずつ変わっていきます。

竣工時の最良の状態を一枚に込めることで、設計者・施主・施工者、すべての方にとって意味のある記録を残したい。そのために必要なのは、技術的な精度と、空間を読み解く観察眼です。

とりわけ大切にしているのは、素材の質感の表現です。壁の凹凸、ざらざらとした手触り、コンクリートや木の経年──写真では本来とらえにくいこれらの感覚を、ピント合わせとデジタル処理を丁寧に重ねることで、画面の中に残すように努めています。建築が持つ「ものとしての存在感」を、一枚に確かに焼き付けるために。

建築専門の撮影現場で重ねてきた経験を糧に、自らの眼と手で一枚ずつ向き合っています。高精細撮影、垂直補正を前提としたライティング、光と時間を見極める観察眼──どれも派手な仕事ではありませんが、結果としての一枚が、その建築の価値を正しく伝えられるよう努めています。

To Preserve Architecture
As It Truly Is.

I believe that the role of architectural photography is to record a building as faithfully as possible to its true nature. The architect's intention, the client's vision, the craftsman's hand, the scale of space, the quality of light, and the texture of materials — all of these begin to change the moment a building is completed.

By capturing a building in its finest state at the moment of completion, I aim to leave a record that holds meaning for the architect, the client, and the builder alike. What this requires is technical precision, and a trained eye for reading space.

What I value most is the expression of material texture. The unevenness of a wall, the rough touch of concrete, the patina of aging wood — these are sensations that photography rarely captures with ease. Through careful focus and refined post-processing, I work to retain them within the frame, so that the physical presence of architecture is preserved as something tangible.

Drawing on years of experience photographing architecture on location, I approach each frame with my own eye and hand. High-resolution imaging, lighting designed for precise vertical correction, and a careful reading of light and time — none of this is showy work. But the resulting image is what allows the architecture to be conveyed for what it truly is.
